CHARRO ON THE ROAD
Charro on the Road: Bringing the Spirit of Charrería to America’s Rodeos !
When the gates swing open and the horses step into the arena, audiences aren’t just watching a performance, they’re witnessing generations of tradition, family and culture brought to life.
Charro on the Road is the internationally acclaimed family act of Tomás and Justine Garcilazo, dedicated to preserving and sharing the rich heritage of Charrería, Mexico’s National Sport and the historical foundation of American rodeo. Their breathtaking performances blend exceptional horsemanship, traditional rope artistry into an unforgettable experience that celebrates the values of family, respect, courage and tradition.
Leading the act is Tomás Garcilazo, a four-time PRCA Dress Act of the Year, winner of TBS’s Go Big Show, Texas Cowboy Hall of Fame inductee, and one of the world’s most recognized charros. Alongside his wife, Justine, and their young sons, the Garcilazo family has traveled thousands of miles performing at PRCA rodeos, fairs and special events across the United States while sharing their passion for preserving an authentic cultural legacy.
What makes Charro on the Road truly unique is that it is a family tradition lived every day. Their children are already becoming the next generation of charros, learning the values, horsemanship and the rope artistry that have been passed down through generations. Every performance reflects not only incredible skill but also the importance of keeping heritage alive through family.
Showcasing the elegance of the Mexican saddle horse, or demonstrating the artistry of traditional maguey rope handling, Charro on the Road creates a performance that bridges cultures and reminds audiences that the cowboy and the charro share a common history rooted in the love of the horse and life on the land.
Today, the Garcilazo family continues traveling the country with one mission: to inspire, educate, and entertain while ensuring that the legacy of Charrería lives on for generations to come.

Paul Fuchs
Paul Fuchs (fox) from New Martinsville Wv. I grew up when we used horses to do our farm work. I can remember catching a ride on the horses as they came in for lunch even though they were sweaty and hot. We eventually got a tractor and Dad decided to sell the horses and I convinced him to get me a pony since I wouldn't have the horses to ride.
Always had something to ride until I joined the service. Upon coming home I soon got quarter horses.
I drove the quarter horses as a team and had joined a wagon train that was going to follow the Mormon from Illinois to Utah.
After loosing one of my horses in 2008 we ended up getting mules.
I rode with the Best of America tv show as trail boss for a few years and met a lot of great people and made a lot friends.
Over the year's I've covered several miles by horseback and on mules and I'm still riding.
I've ridden so many great places and seen so many beautiful places that words can't describe but one of the most magical has been riding my mule in the Grand Canyon.
After loosing my leg at the Grayson Highlands in 2022 Ray Raber and Nathan trained my mule to lie down for me to get on so I can still ride.
Not sure how long this journey will last but it's been a great one.
My dog Yoda who showed up at my farm has been with me for 12yrs and has covered several miles traveling around the country with me.

Hoofbeats of Liberty
We are from northern Indiana. We consist of 6 riders, 3 guys and 3 girls. We all ride registered quarter horses. Out liberty idea came from being at Mission and watching liberty work. We then decided to put that into a drill team. We focus on precise timing and spacing as we work on teamwork and horsemanship skills. We hope to inspire others as we share our passion for horses.
